Our Facility

Hospice of the Golden Isles offers services to patients in their homes, in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, wherever patient’s call home.  We are fortunate to have our own residential and inpatient facility on the grounds of the Hospice in Brunswick.   The Hospice residential facility opened in August of 2007.  The Jolley House was named for Dr. Lex Jolley, a volunteer and benefactor of the hospice. This unique facility provides hospice care for those patients who need 24 hour care, but do not have an adequate home environment or caregivers available to meet their needs.   The Jolley House can accommodate up to eight residents, each in their own spacious room with full bath offering comfort and privacy.  Patients are responsible for their room and board with Medicare, Medicaid, or private insurance covering their hospice expenses.

The Jolley House is adjacent to the Robinson Center.  The Robinson Center originally built in 1997 with an addition in 2004 is the hospice inpatient unit for acute care hospice needs. State-of-the-art facilities were designed for the ultimate comfort and palliative care of the terminally-ill and their families. Hospice patients are admitted to the Robinson Center for Caring when they have acute problems with pain and/or symptom management, when the family is in crisis, or when patients are in their final days.

Twelve colorful private patient rooms each with built-in guest sleeping area, generous bookshelves and pleasing views outside to the woodland or garden are fully-equipped for patients’ comfort. Each room has a birdhouse and feeder just outside a wide sunlit window. Here, expect to see a daily celebration of life – a colorful aquarium, a lively birdcage filled with chirping finches, people who know that caring for people at this vital time of life is an honor and a privilege.  The halls are often filled with laughter or tears, but always with love and caring.

Robinson Center was designed to accommodate the needs of the family. Family members have access to their own dining area and family room with TV and children’s tables, a screened porch and outside gazebo with inviting rocking chairs. There is a new woodland trail and pavilion donated in 2008 by Frank and Gail Scott.  The wooden wheelchair accessible trail wanders through the wooded area connecting the Jolley House and the Robinson Center and has a family sized outdoor cooking area with tables.
