Social workers are patient advocates who provide emotional support to patients and families.  Our social workers are trained to assist with advance directives, address financial concerns, help with funeral arrangements,  and make community referrals for services. Patients and families often find that it is helpful to have experienced clinicians who understand grief and loss to assist with support through counseling and education.  We can provide assistance with talking with children and coordination with schools as needed.
